The Steamboat Heroine (1838)

Heroine was a Western steamboat built in 1832 and lost in 1838 while carrying supplies to Fort Towson, in Indian Territory.

The shipwreck was covered with sediments and exposed by a flood in 1990. and excavated by Kevin Crisman between 1999 and 2002, in a joint project of the Oklahoma Historical Society (OHS), the Institute of Nautical Archaeology, and Texas A&M University.

Glenn Grieco built several models of Heroine for the Oklahoma History Center, in Oklahoma City.
